Hello beautiful People,
Hard to believe that I’ve already been here for 2 weeks! Here is a little run down of all the things I did on my second week of my month long trip to the Netherlands.
Monday 18th May:
HAAAPPPYYY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I turned 19 last week and of course that called for a celebration. I am definitely one of those people who is obsessed with their birthday and thinks it’s the most important day of the year and the whole world should stop and celebrate with me (#DIVA). We started off the day pretty slow and chilled at home then decided to head to the gym for a quick game of squash and a trip to the sauna. It was then time to get ready for the night and hop on the bus to Amsterdam! Inez decided to be a cutie and take me to an all you can eat sushi bar for dinner. I can safely say that I have never eaten so much in my life. We then headed to Leidseplein (basically the best known party street In Amsterdam). We were not expecting a crazy night because it was a Monday after all, but we were pleasantly surprised to arrive and see the street full of people partying! (Shoutout to all the bartenders who gave us free birthday shots!). All in all it was an amazing night and an amazing birthday!
Tuesday 19th & Wednesday 20th May:
These days were very VERY chilled and mostly spent at home recovering from the immense amounts of alcohol that were consumed and catching up on all the episodes of series’ that had been missed! And of course going to the gym as well 🙂
Thursday 21st May:
On Thursday we headed down to Amsterdam in search of a suitable and reasonably priced tattoo shop as both Inez and myself are getting tattoos. We walked around and went into some shops that just didn’t fit what we were looking for. Some were too expensive while others just looked straight up dodgey. We grabbed some lunch and ate it on the steps of Dam square. We finally decided to head to the red light district to look for more tattoo shops and we finally found the perfect one. We have now named the 2nd of June ‘tattoo Monday’ so let’s hope we actually go through with it!
Friday 22nd May:
Inez was working all day on Friday so I decided to just stay home and go to the gym with her parents before heading to Amsterdam to pick her up from work and head out for the night. We went to the bar right next to CitizenM to start the night then headed to our usual spots on Leidseplein for the rest of the night. We told ourselves that we would be home by 3am but well, that just was not the case. We were having too much fun when 3am came around so we decided to stay a little bit longer. We ended up getting home at 5:30am…oops.
Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th May:
This was a very very chilled out weekend because Inez was working on both days and I was quite honestly just feeling very lazy and exhausted from the week that had just passed. I did, however, go for several walks. Inez’s family lives in a beautiful little village that is always quiet and is full of beautiful green fields so it’s lovely to just take a long walk down the road.
And there we go. I’m halfway through my trip and enjoying every bit of it.
Sending you lots of good vibes,
